Robert’s Center in Venice Homeless Weekend Program Needs Volunteers

A group of volunteers from St. A’s participated in what was our first assigned Saturday (6/26) at the St. Roberts Center in Venice. The center operates 7:30am- 11:30am offering this amazing and heartfelt ministry to those in need in our community. Volunteers were there to help those in need by preparing sandwiches and lunch bags for displaced people. They helped distribute clothes, groceries, and a presence to those in need of a human connection.

The center provides emergency food for residents of Santa Monica, Venice, LAX Airport, West Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, and Culver City areas.  The center has a rotating schedule of six parishes who commit to having volunteers come and serve. The center has reserved the following Saturdays (8/7, 10/30, & 12/11) just for St. Anastasia volunteers and we ask you kindly to consider volunteering at the Center one of these days.

We are forming our own St. Robert’s Center Volunteer Team, and would love for those of you interested to contact the Parish Office at parish@st-anastasia.org, or by calling at 310.670.2243, for more information. You could also reach out to Tom Hoffarth, Food Pantry Manager at St. Roberts Center, at THoffarth@ccharities.org, or call 323.646.1096.

“Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, ‘I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’”  ~ Matthew  25:34-35
